The West Pier Trust has been working for the last few years towards the restoration of an original 1866 kiosk recovered from the Pier in the 1990s. The kiosk is of immense architectural and historical significance. During the summer of 2022 we learnt that our funding application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund was, unfortunately, unsuccessful. We are now rethinking our approach and are working with Brighton and Hove City Council, which owns the site designated for the reconstructed kiosk, on alternative options for the project.
WPT’s Board is committed to examining all feasible options on the basis of financial viability, practicality and integrity. As soon as we can we will publish detail of our revised plans.
