Composer Paul Lewis’s new orchestral work, ‘The Sunken Ballroom’, inspired by the West Pier Concert Hall, will be premiered in November by the Sussex Symphony Orchestra http://ssomusic.co.uk/events-3/concert-schedule/ Paul’s mother, also a musician, played in the Concert Hall orchestra in the 1930’s. Her instrument, a John Gay banjolin, will poignantly be played by guitarist Ian Kearey on the night (9th November)! Here’s a photo of Paul and Ian with the banjolin.
