Have you seen the West Pier marker buoy washed up on the beach just west of the site? It happened in the winds on Wednesday night. Trinity House (whose buoy it is) will put it back at the end of the pier after Christmas.

Here’s a very rare photo taken during the construction of the Concert Hall. The building opened in 1916 so this probably dates from 1915. Interesting that such a major piece of work took place during the upheavals of the World War I.
