Do you remember the hard hat tours of the West Pier that ran between 1997 and 2001? They were enormously popular and enabled thousands of people to take, what turned out to be, a last look at the interiors of the pier. Andrew Hebden has kindly shared the photos his of tour here.

West Pier Art Exhibiton

The exhibition opened today at the Brighton Jubilee Library and will run until 18th January.  Maria’s paintings  reflect her experience of the changes to Brighton West Pier and i360 redevelopments. There will also be documentation of her process, including photographs, sketchbooks and images from the public workshops held for three weeks last summer on the West Pier beach.

The Heritage Lottery Fund turned down our bid for funding the West Pier heritage centre. Competition was intense and another project thought to be more in need of HLF support was chosen.
