Brighton i360 have made a wonderfully atmospheric video  of the first beach landing on 11th June – click here to view it. Come to the West Pier beach early tomorrow morning (23rd June) to witness the second.

Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce hosted a lunch at Alresco’s restaurant to celebrate the arrival of the the first sections of the tower by barge last Thursday. Watch the video of the event – it includes some lovely aerial shots of the pier, the barge and the cans!

Brighton i360 has released this great new promo video

Many thanks to  i360 community liaison officer, Ruth Chapman, who gave Trust members a fascinating illustrated talk on the i360 last Wednesday. She made its sophisticated engineering completely accessible to us and we were captivated! If you’d like to be included in future Trust members’ events, click here for the form.

Brighton Festival concluded on Sunday with a specially commissioned installation – ‘Fleeting’, celebrating the West Pier and its famous starling murmurations.  Here is a great photo taken on the night by Paul Mansfield

Last week the i360 team went to Rotterdam to inspect the tower cans before they start their journey by barge to Brighton next month – read the blog for more detail. There’s lots of activity on site at the moment completing the final preparations for the big arrival at the West Pier beach on 11th June.

Read about this exciting part of the i360 scheme – the restoration and reinstatement of the two original pier toll booths which for decades stood proudly at the entrance of the pier. The opening of the i360 will see these splendid buildings back where they belong!
