On Tuesday at the Grand Hotel i360 Chief Engineer John Roberts gave a fascinating talk about designing and building Brighton’s newest landmark. About 130 people attended, mostly Trust members but also i360 enthusiasts, local engineers and others interested to hear the technical story behind this extremely challenging project. John made all sorts of complex engineering conundrums accessible to those of us who have little or no grasp of the subject. He and David Marks, i360 architect who also attended, took questions afterwards and then we had drinks. A very enjoyable evening and a great opportunity to get to know members better. Here’s a photo of John, David Marks, Julia Barfield and Trust members and i360 aficionados, Geraldine Diggins and Felicity Morris.
