The Heritage Lottery Fund turned down our bid for funding the West Pier heritage centre. Competition was intense and another project thought to be more in need of HLF support was chosen. We’re disappointed, of course. Looking to the future, we will now examine other ways of realising our plans for developing the heritage centre in a restored 1866 kiosk (picture below). Controlling the project entirely ourselves will give us more freedom and scope. We will keep you posted on progress.
