Local wildlife photographer, James Warwick has taken some stunning photos of the starling murmurarations that were once a feature of the West Pier.
The reason for the birds’ amazing aerial displays prior to roosting is not known but it's thought it could be an anti-predator strategy against birds of prey. The first 4 pictures were taken in late 2008 and the others in early 1998 (prior to the fires and the concert hall's collapse)
James has given us permission to display a selection. You can see more of James's work including photos of the West Pier and buy prints from www.jameswarwick.co.uk
